Loughborough Rocks!

Today was the 1st time I played keyboards for LCCF. Woah... scary. I made tons of mistakes =p. During worship practice yesterday, Patrick was teaching me to play just the chords, minus the melody. Usually when I play the piano, its chords on the left hand, melody on the right. W/O the melody, my right hand feels so empty. Have to start getting use to chord playing on the right as well...

Anyway, it was a little difficult for me to focus during LCCF this week. Coz while LCCF was going on, most of the university's population were gathered at the ruby pitches. It was the Inter Varsity Rugby Match against Loughborough's arch rivals- Bath. We won of course=) 19-11. Go Lufbra!!

The whole field was geared up for the match. The bleachers and spotlights were brought out. (At least, I think they were brought out, never seen them being used before.) Hours before kick offs, the PA crew were doing sound checks. The commentary/ music could be heard halfway across campus.

A little bit nearer...

The Chapel is located in front of the pitches and I managed to catch a glimsp of the match during worship practice prior to LCCF. *sigh* The whole atmosphere reminded me of JC. Rugby is ACJC's school sport as well. And whenever it comes to the finals between our rivals RJC, the whole school would gather and cheer our ruggers on. The tension between both schools is like 'woah'...

If you thought the ACJC rugby atmosphere is good, Loughborough's is way way MUCH better. You had to purchase tickets to watch the game, and connections to get good seats. (Judy told me that she could have gotten us 1st class tickets...)

I thought ACJC's rugby standards were pretty high (It is, compared to other JCs! *grins*) But Loughborough's rugby is like awesome!!! Even from the chapel window, we could see balls flying across the field. Hey, Lufbra's rugby team trains with the England rugby team okay? (No wonder my old PE teacher- Mr Mark Ng is in charge of ACJC's rugby. He must have gotten influenced while studying Sports Science in Loughborough.)
Oh yeah, the English hockey and cricket teams trains at Loughborough too!

Speaking of which, I found out that 1 of our school ruggers could not attend the match as he was representing UK for the commonwealth games. (Oh oh, read on if you want to continue hearing me boasting about Loughborough.) Apparently, 68 Loughborough students- past & present, athletes and staff were chosen to represent England/ Scothland/ Northen Irreland in the CommonWealth games. I don't know the full figures but roughly there are 10 swimers, 4 hockey players, 2 pole-vaulters, 2 tracks people, 2 Netballers and a Rugger from the team of 68. Within days of the opening, Loughborough has helped clinch a few medals!
